The Perfect Two-Part Ride from Boynton Beach

Riding directly from Boynton Beach to Daytona can feel like one long highway trip. Breaking the journey into two comfortable sections makes the ride more enjoyable and gives you a worthwhile Harley-Davidson stop along the way.

Arrive at Destination Daytona

Destination Daytona is one of the first places where you truly feel the scale of the rally.

The complex is anchored by Teddy Morse’s Daytona Harley-Davidson and its enormous 109,000-square-foot, two-story showroom. Riders can explore motorcycles, parts, apparel, riding gear and accessories before walking through the surrounding businesses and rally activities.

During Biketoberfest, the area becomes a gathering place for riders arriving from across Florida and the country. Motorcycles fill the parking areas, vendors set up throughout the complex and live entertainment adds to the energy.

Destination Daytona also places you close to several of the rally’s most important Ormond Beach stops, including Iron Horse Saloon, Broken Spoke Saloon and the Ormond Scenic Loop.

Must-Visit Biketoberfest Stops

You could spend the entire weekend moving between rally venues and still not see everything. However, several places belong on every first-time Biketoberfest itinerary.

Iron Horse Saloon

The World Famous Iron Horse Saloon is one of the essential Daytona rally stops.

Located on North U.S. Highway 1 in Ormond Beach, Iron Horse is known for concerts, food, vendors and the unmistakable atmosphere of a large outdoor biker venue. During Biketoberfest, motorcycles continuously roll through the property while bands perform throughout the day and evening.

Grab something to eat, walk the grounds, listen to a band and take in the rows of motorcycles. Even riders who have visited before tend to make Iron Horse part of every Daytona trip.

Broken Spoke Saloon

The Broken Spoke Saloon is another must-do destination and deserves a dedicated stop.

Located at 1151 North U.S. Highway 1 in Ormond Beach, Broken Spoke is close to Iron Horse and Destination Daytona, making it easy to include all three in the same part of your itinerary.

Broken Spoke is known for its large outdoor gathering space, live entertainment, motorcycle shows, custom bikes and old-school biker-bar atmosphere. Its event programming commonly includes bike shows, specialty motorcycle displays and major bands during Daytona’s motorcycle rallies.

Iron Horse and Broken Spoke are close enough to visit in the same afternoon, but they provide two distinctly different experiences. Do not rush through either one.

Dirty Harry’s

When you reach Main Street, Dirty Harry’s should be one of your first stops.

Located at 705 Main Street, Dirty Harry’s sits in the heart of Daytona’s rally district. During major events, its palm-lined outdoor area transforms into a large block party with an outdoor stage, live bands, contests and crowds moving between the surrounding Main Street venues.

It is loud, crowded and exactly what many riders imagine when they think about Biketoberfest.

Froggy’s Saloon

Just down Main Street, Froggy’s Saloon delivers another high-energy Daytona biker-bar experience.

Froggy’s is located at 800 Main Street and promotes live music, special events, cold drinks and nonstop activity. During Biketoberfest, motorcycles pack the street outside while riders move between Froggy’s and the other nearby venues.

You do not necessarily need a schedule for Main Street. Park the bike, begin walking and follow the sound of the next band.

Full Moon Saloon

The Full Moon Saloon brings a country-bar atmosphere to the 700 block of Main Street.

Located near Dirty Harry’s, Full Moon features country music, dancing and a different energy from some of the rock-oriented biker bars nearby. It gives riders another entertainment option without leaving the central Main Street rally area.

Dirty Harry’s, Froggy’s and Full Moon are all close enough to experience during the same Main Street visit.

Food Vendors and Live Music Everywhere

Come to Biketoberfest hungry.

Food vendors are spread throughout the Daytona and Ormond Beach rally areas. Depending on the location, you may find barbecue, burgers, sausage, seafood, tacos, wings and almost every variety of festival food imaginable.

Live music is just as easy to find. Bands perform at the major saloons, outdoor stages, dealership complexes, restaurants and smaller venues throughout the area. The official Biketoberfest program includes outdoor concerts, vendors, bike shows and entertainment across multiple locations.

You can spend the afternoon at Iron Horse and Broken Spoke, ride into Daytona for Main Street and finish the evening moving between Dirty Harry’s, Froggy’s and Full Moon Saloon.

Ride the Ormond Scenic Loop

Biketoberfest is not only about crowded venues and packed streets. Some of the weekend’s best moments happen when you ride away from the rally.

The Ormond Scenic Loop and Trail, commonly called the Loop, is one of the area’s signature motorcycle routes. The full scenic area covers more than 30 miles, with sections passing beneath canopies of live oak trees and alongside rivers, marshes, coastal scenery and undeveloped stretches of old Florida.

The Loop provides the perfect contrast to Main Street.

One moment, you are surrounded by engines, crowds and live music. A short time later, you are riding beneath Spanish moss on a quiet two-lane road.

Ride the Loop early in the morning before the larger crowds arrive, or use it as an afternoon escape when you need a break from the busiest rally areas. Allow extra space between motorcycles, stay alert through shaded curves and watch for wildlife and vehicles entering the roadway.

For a first-time Biketoberfest visitor, the Loop should be considered mandatory.

Take the Coastal Ride to St. Augustine

For a longer scenic adventure, point the Harley north toward St. Augustine.

From the northern Daytona and Ormond Beach area, St. Augustine is roughly an hour away by the most direct route. The more scenic option follows A1A through Flagler Beach, Palm Coast and the coastal communities south of St. Augustine. That route may take longer, especially when traffic is heavy or you stop along the beach—but the ride is part of the reason to go.

The official Biketoberfest Old City Ride covers approximately 110 miles round trip between Daytona and St. Augustine and is estimated at about 2½ hours of riding time without extended stops.

Along the coastal route, riders encounter ocean views, beach towns, bridges, marshlands and sections of Florida shoreline that feel far removed from the crowds on Main Street.

Once you arrive, park the motorcycle and experience St. Augustine in all its glory. Walk through the historic district, see the bayfront and Bridge of Lions, visit Castillo de San Marcos and explore the restaurants, shops and centuries-old architecture of America’s oldest continuously occupied European-established city.

A morning ride to St. Augustine, lunch near the historic district and an afternoon return along the coast can become one of the best experiences of the entire Biketoberfest weekend.

Thursday: Ride to Daytona
